Hi everyone!

Summer is HERE at Seagull Canoe Outfitters and Cabins! Temps are in the high 70s and the sunshine feels AMAZING! We definitely cannot complain; life on the lake is wonderful. We had a very busy 4th of July weekend, and we’ve finally finished all of our gear cleaning as a result. A completely-outfitted group of 16 boy scouts utilize a ton of tents, food packs, etc… plus a full parking lot to boot!

Fishing has been great, the blueberries are beginning to ripen, and we’ve seen our share of moose along the Gunflint so far this summer! Ask us where we look when you get here 😉

The Seagull staff has done a wonderful job thus far. We’ve welcomed back Brittney, Nate, Alex, and Tia for another summer and have welcomed six fresh faces to our team for 2017. Ian just paddled in from a solo trip to Red Rock/Alpine; Tia and Mason are getting towed out to Hook Island as we speak. Now’s the time to take a trip, before the peak of the season hits! We are very lucky to do what we do.

Our cabins are looking quite full for 2017, but we still have a few openings here and there! NEW IN 2017: WE’VE IMPLEMENTED HIGH-SPEED WIFI IN EACH OF OUR SEAGULL AND SAGANAGA LAKE CABINS! We understand that many individuals cannot separate *completely* from work, so we’ve answered your requests with the assistance of fiber optic cable installation along the Gunflint last fall. If you want it, the option is there! If not, disconnect and enjoy the peaceful serenity that our lakeside cabins have to offer.

YES there are still BWCA entry permits available, and YES we can help you reserve one. Give us a call at 218-388-2216 and we’ll see what we can do. There are also still Quetico entry permits available, but you’ll want to book soon! Quetico permits are quite limited, as you know, so be sure to jump on it as soon as your dates are set. NEW IN 2017: AMEX CARDS NO LONGER ACCEPTED AT THE CACHE BAY RANGER STATION.

Until next time, happy paddling! Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you.

Brittney and Deb
