Seagull Lake Cabins

The cool, crisp mornings of Northern Minnesota brings forth a steam that rises above the mirrored water in a bay on the Northeastern part of Seagull Lake. This is a common scene in the mornings from your cabin deck. As you witness from your window, or from your chairs on the deck, the sun rising from behind the pine, spruce and birch forest horizon that melts the steam away before your eyes. The boreal forest is alive with the sounds of the inhabitant birds and resident wildlife. A new day has arrived. One which is sure to be filled with new adventures and unexpected surprises. No matter how hard you try and stick to a schedule, numerous alterations will have to be made to your itinerary because of the spontaneous nature of nature itself. So do yourself a favor and let yourself be consumed by the entire experience, and allow us the opportunity to be your guide and host as we present to you, a week on spectacular Seagull Lake.

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." ~Frank Lloyd Wright

[BWCA IMAGE: Morning fog has burned off to a beautiful calm day on Seagull Lake]The lake itself is a 4,000 acre glacial masterpiece. With over a hundred islands on the lake, all a unique cutout of granite rock and boreal forest, the lake presents to us a wonderous labyrinth in which to navigate. No view is ever the same, and the unknown awaits you behind every corner. So whether by boat or by canoe, this is your canvas for a week in which to create your memories that will fuel your appetite and soften your heart until the next time.

"Man's heart away from nature becomes hard." ~Standing Bear

We own three cabins on Seagull Lake. All three are about as unique as the islands on the lake. The descriptions and images of the cabins can be seen below. As remote of an area as we live in, our cabins are equipped with all of the modern essentials. Families, fishermen, couples, etc., we have the setup for you. These modern cabins will allow you to experience the best of both worlds for a week. Enjoy the outdoors and all of its wonders and still come home to the comfort of a nice hot shower and warm bed.

Interested in taking your family on an overnight trip into the "canoe only" portion of Seagull Lake? Do you have small children? Maybe you want to fish the plentiful fishing holes more comfortably on the west side of Seagull Lake. If so, look no further than the Double Canoe Raft found only at Seagull Outfitters.

Maraboeuf Cabin - sleeps 5 people - View Floor Plan

Maraboeuf is our most spacious cabin on Seagull Lake. Those looking for plenty of room to stretch and relax will find this cabin to their liking. During the spring of 2004, this cabin was remodeled entirely, giving it a brand new look and feel. See for yourself below. It features a large living/dining area with vaulted ceiling and large windows looking out at our quiet Seagull bay. The interior walls of the cabin are entirely knotty pine. With a large deck and gas grill out front, this cabin will be your home away from home for a week. The pictures below will help paint an image.

In this cabin there are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms have a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom is spacious with flush toilet, sink, vanity and shower. (By the way, the cabin's name is pronounced "Mare-a-boo"!)

Alpine Cabin - sleeps 4 people - View Floor Plan

Alpine offers the most seclusion of our three Seagull Lake cabins. It sits up high atop our bay with a very pretty view through the trees of the water below, roughly 60 feet. This cozy cabin was also remodeled in the fall of 2003. The interior, like Maraboeuf, is all knotty pine. You start by walking up the stairs to the deck which leads to the kitchen. The brand new kitchen is completely modern with a view through the windows out to the deck and lake. The living/dining area is quite spacious compared to prior the remodel. The bathroom is entirely new with a flush toilet, sink and shower.

There are two bedrooms off the living area. One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a pull-out couch in the living area so all 4 guests could have their own bed if need be. The deck out back also comes equipped with a gas grill to enjoy a BBQ on the warm summer nights while relaxing and taking in the view of the lake.

Ogish Cabin (New in 2006) - sleeps 2 people - View Floor Plan

Ogish is a brand new cabin in 2006 that's located about 30 yards from the Maraboeuf cabin. It is a cozy one bedroom/one bath cabin with a vaulted ceiling. The walls are clear knotty pine throughout. The living/dining/kitchen area is on the lakeside. There is a 20'x10' deck with a gas grill out front to cook out with and enjoy the view of the bay.

There is only one bedroom in Ogish, and that has a king bed that converts to two twin beds. This cabin replaces our old log Red Rock Cabin in the same location with easy walking access to the main dock at Seagull. We are just finishing the interior this winter and the photos below are the first ones we've taken. Updated pictures will follow as we decorate the interior.
