Seagull Canoe Outfitters logoGunflint Green Up 2010

The Gunflint Green Up is an effort that began following the May 2007 Ham Lake fire to plant and nurture new trees. The Ham Lake fire burnt much of the upper Gunflint Trail area leaving areas bare and devoid of trees. So the residents and businesses on the Gunflint Trail banded together to form and fund the Gunflint Green Up effort.

Nurse the Gunflint Trail back to health during the Gunflint Green Up 2010, and join us on Seagull and Saganaga Lakes to relax and recharge!

Each May since 2008, the residents, business owners and frequenters of the Gunflint Trail join together for a couple days of tender loving care as we help build back the area we love so much. The Gunflint Trail and the BWCA in general is a place that most visitors hold dear in their hearts. The area has given us so many great memories and experiences, and in this time of need the Gunflint Green Up is our chance to give back, and nurse it back to health.

In 2010, Friday, May 7th and Saturday, May 8th will be dedicated to “greening up” the Gunflint Trail. We are looking for volunteers to help us “release” the white and red pine trees that were planted in 2008 and 2009. For more information, and to register to help with this effort, please visit the Official Gunflint Green Up Website.

Once you have your Gunflint Green Up registration complete and you're looking for a place to stay. That's where we come in. We’re here to help accommodate you. Our cabins and bunkhouse are available for reservation beginning May 6th to give you a relaxing place to stay while you help nurture the Gunflint back to health.
